Yesterday my friend reversed into his sisters car by accident, minimal damage to friends car but his sisters car has dented wing, door and smashed side indicator light. His sister said she will see how much it is going to cost for repairs before she decides whether or not to claim off insurance, but if she does claim off insurance, does she have to claim off her friends who will lose some no claims bonus as not protected, or can she just claim off her own, she has protected bonus (which she said she doesnt mind doing).

she can do either,it wont affect her in anyway if she has protected bonus, but they will want to know how it happened, she will have to lie and say it was done in a supermarket etc,i bet her friend would claim off her if it were the other way round,
If her insurance company find out she is trying to defraud them it could be very expensive, now and in the future.
