Remove the internal fuse board - 2 retaining screws and push in the lugs on either side of the fuse board. I found this easier by supporting it from underneath from the footwell. (This fuse board os on the RH side of steering wheel which was hidden behind a small coin tray thingy.)
The windscreen wiper relay is on the second row (furthest from you) and in my case was coloured red.
On a final note 'What has happened to Hayes Manuals??? This is my sons Fiesta and he knows nothing about cars, so I told him "all you need is a Haynes Manual". In the 80's (yes I am old) I was forever fixing or tinkering with something on my cars and the only way I managed this was with my trusty Haynes Manual - so when I looked at the one my son had bought I was shocked at how they had gone downhill - crappy paper, poor photography and pretty lame instructions. Yet they now have a silly price tag and don't seem worth the money!
