problem with central locking and immobiliser
5 Answers
Hi please could you help me. I own a 1998 renault megane senic, over the past few months my key fob has been getting harder to work the central locking, which in turn switches the immobiliser off. Now it WONT work at ALL.. Last week i noticed water coming though, where the censor is by the rear view mirror. I found out that the ariel was loose, thats now fixed. i have put new batteries in the key fob, with no joy. Could the cenor be the problem ? If so, how do i go about fixing it ? ON A TIGHT BUDGET.... Thank you, martin.

I am just wondering if you have had any luck with the problem with your Senic? I too am having the exact same problem since last Thursday. I too noticed leaking from my sunroof or arial & now the central locking will not work from the key plip. I too have taken out the receiver from by the rearview mirror & dried it but too no avail. I have also replaced the batteries in the key plip as well as drying that too in case that had somehow gotten damp. I have now run out of options & think I will have to take the car to renult for a diagonis which I am not looking forward too.
I have ended up taking my senic to a garage, they said that it would be my key. i told em about the leak from the ariel and they said that will be ********. The garage have rang me yesterday, and the problem is the censor, the leak has ******** the censor and it is going to cost me 220 quid for the part alone. as it has got to come from a renault dealers. the price is that much because ( this is what the garage has told me ) I have had the type of car which the key fob opperates the central locking, immobiliser, and alarm all together - factory fitted.. I havn't had my car back yet, so when i do i will let you know the out come.. i am dreading to think what the total price is going to be. i hope this helps you..
