scratch on car

my sons car has been scratched not very deep but more than t cut will remove anyone got any ways of removing this without it costing a fortune

You could try getting a quote from a mobile car body restorer who restore the just the damaged bit and not the whole panel - the one I have used in the past is called 'Chips Away' and they did all the little dents and scratches on my car for very resonable price and they come to your house or place of work too.

I have found colour wax very effective for minor scratches. Also a wax crayon close to the colour of the car and then polish it out.

Believe it or not somebody once recomended rubbing the scratch very gently with brasso ( it sort of blends the paint in) and then painting it with one of those touch up pens. I did this, and do you know, the scratch was unspottable!! Obviously you musn't rub too hard though.

get some rubbing compound put on cloth and gentle rub it it should take it out if its not deep
