I have an Audi A3, 30k on clock, when driving at 70 the revs are sitting at 4000 so I thought something was wrong. I have brought a Tom Tom and checked the speed, it appears my speedo is 10% out, ie when I am driving 60 according to my speedo the tomtom said 70 and so on. I have had the ECU checked and it has come back no problems, the speedo was also checked via the ECU and was all OK.
I have full Audi Service history and no known problems but am really worried about this speedo issue, and want to get it resolved urgently.
Anyone got any idea's or know anyone in Herts area who could come and have a look or repair, I am happy to pay what ever to get this resolved...
really? the tomtom reads more do you mean?? ive heard a lot of people say the speedo reads more then the tomtom but never heard the other way around? when I am doing 60 (Car Speedo) the tomtom says 70
My X5 states I'm doing 70MPH on the speedo and when I check using my onboard fuel comp it says I'm doing 63mph. I was told a long time ago that most vehicles on the road show you are going faster than you actually are and usually its about 5-10%
Thanks, I have heard this before, my concern was the speedo was saying less. Ive done another test and my brother overtook me in my car and the speedo said 65, in the car I was driving the cruise control was set at 70 so think there is defo a fault unfortunately, any other advice?
thanks
