false accusation driving offence:- driving without due care & failure to stop.
I have received a court summons and I am confused about how to proceed. I apparently was involved in an accident last November. I was leaving a petrol station turning right entering traffic.A space in the oncoming traffic aloud me to enter. As I proceeded across the road I accidentaly mounted the kerb of the central reservation. This did not cause me to stop and I continued along the road. Immediately I was afraid that I may have damaged my offside tyre and stopped about 30 mtrs up the road in a layby. there was no damage to any part of my vehicle. I continued on my journey. The summons is prosecuting me on failure to stop at scene of accident and driving without due care .According to the driver of the damaged car I alledgedly after mounting the central reservation smashed into the wing of this car ,stopped reversed back rammed the car again then sped off..... There are also two witness statements backing this up. I do not deny that I was there and mounted the reservation but was not involved in any accident. Obviously I would have stopped if this happened.Thats what insurance is for and its protected???? Any advise welcome please

If you have uninsured loss cover contact them for help.
You can employ a forensic car examiner who will be able to confirm your car has not been repaired.
If you can prove this the other party and their 'witnesses' may well be prosecuted themselves.
Surely before any prosecution the police would have needed to contact you, have they done this?
