I have a P reg. Corsa which has devoloped a water leak in on the driver's side in the vicinity of the water pump. There is no loss until the engine warms up, and then there is a steady drip, the source of which I cannot locate. The water pump appears to be OK. Any help appreciated.

Could be the seal on the shaft of the pump itself leaking in which case a new pump is needed - if it is, and the pump is driven by the timing belt on your particular year - best to get it changed before the pump bearing fails and the timing belt slips and smashes the engine.
Not sure what year a P reg is as they dont use them in
N. Ireland but some years have an O ring that makes the seal between the pump itself and the engine - and they can leak too - another possibilty is the head gasket - more a common fault on petrols.

Many thanks for that. P reg is 1997, updated model. I will be taking it to be serviced tomorrow, so will post the result when I know.

PS. Go to N. Ireland most years. My sister lives in Downpatrick. Lovely place!
