I put my Meriva in for a service. I asked for some problems to be looked at. The valve noise requires a new camshaft, rocker arms and hydraulic lifters, this will be covered under the warranty. The noise from the back brakes (during driving without the brakes being being applied) has been located to binding calipers which will be replaced under warranty. As a consequence of this fault the disks and pads have been overheating and will have to be replaced. I was informed that due to the age and mileage of the car (2years 11 months and 27k) the disks and pads would not be covered, if I wanted the repair done it would cost me 230 for the replacement parts. I attempted to reason that if the warrantied parts were not at fault the disks and pads would not require replacement. Has anyone had a similar situation.

Don't negotiate with the dealer about this go straight to the head office in the UK.
Toureman is right. These are associated repairs so WILL be covered by the warranty repair. Most Dealers are not bright enough to realise this so go the the manufacturer.
If it is consequential damage of a warranty repair then it is definately covered. Call Vauxhall on 0845 0902044.
