I am biting the bullet...selling my trusty 4x4, and am thinking about getting a Mini. Mr Pippa insists it must be a Cooper, so my questions are: 1) Is he right in his insistance that the Cooper is the better option? 2) Is it wise to downsize so severely? 3) Are they as fun as the vintage ones? I am going to be arranging a test-drive, but thought as this is a lazy Sunday you lot might give me some pointers! Cheers in advance :o)
Personally I think they are very expensive for what you get. (I'm assuming you are talking about the new shape BMW Mini's). You would be better off getting a 'top of the range' Ford or something rather than paying the exoribtent sum BWM wants. Just my opinion.
yes they are a bit pricey but the residuals are good so take your pick. I have only driven the Cooper S and its a well built car, its also pretty quick. the current version is turbocharged rather than supercharged but I am told its still a great drive
I won't be going for a Ford. To be honest I think they tend to be overpriced as you don't really get a lot for your money. I have owned BMWs in the past so I know what I am getting regarding build quality...ditto Ford!
Mr P obviously pefers the Cooper as he is a bloke, but I think the One would do me fine as I am not that bothered about speed ;o)
Why spend all that money when you can so much fun from a Fiat Panda 100HP.5 Doors, less that 9000 brand new, cheaper insurance, much more exclusive, more luggage space and as much fun to drive as an original Mini (I've one of those too). The BMW Mini is fine if you're an Estate Agent and you get one free
hi did u decide? i have a mini one, but wouldve had mini cooper s if could afford. the mini one is 1.6, the cooper 1.6 with a chip so it is slightly faster and the cooper s 1.6 supercharged/turbo charged. i think they are excellant to drive although ive oly driven this and a punto. and the service and deals u get are excellant
