Squeaky breaks

I have a 97 R reg Fiat Cinquecento 1.1 sporting which I recently (5 weeks ago) had the front brake discs and pads replaced after taking them to Kwik Fit for a free check as they squeaked even when not breaking. They have started squeaking again when driving and the handbreak light keeps flashing on is this normal?

No its not normal.

First lesson DONT GO TO KWIK FIT. I have not heard of anyone going for a free check and being told all is ok. They will always say something has to be replaced.

Find a local garage, ask friends who they would recommend.

I have had 3 cinqs and every time i had the brake pads changed they squeaked..I was told by the FIAT dealer the only way to stop it was to buy the ones that fiat fit.I tried it and I did the brakes myself after that and never had the problem again. Avoid Kwik fit!
