screeching clio - any ideas?

I have a Y Reg Clio which screeches every now and again. Sometimes this can go on for an hour and then I can drive for days fine. It appears to be coming from the steering column as when I turn the wheel to go round a corner it stops. Has anyone any ideas? Thanks

it sounds like your fan belt making the noise,it quite often happens in wet or damp weather,get it replaced,i wouldent think its anything to do with your steering
