You must certainly get this checked out. It sounds asif you have lost most of the hydraulic fluid from your steering system through leaking seals or whatever. This is only what I think.Your best bet is to check with normanthedog who I think is very experienced and can be very helpful to you.cheers.
if you have power steering,it could be a leak,as the previous post has said.it could be your tyres over inflated,or it could be the bushes on the linkages worn, but get it checked out at your preferred garage.
Get the car ckecked out - Was just thinking - was there a diesel spillage on the road at the time - happened to me a few months back on a roundabout - some pratt of an HGV driver had a loose fuel tank cap and spilt a load going round it causing yours truly to go sideways - was most impressed.
As far as I'm aware if your losing power steering fluid the steering goes 'heavy' not light. Sounds as if your tyres lost grip because of a spillage on the road. Obviously check out your steering fluid levels and tyres for tread and tyre pressures.
What were the road conditions, wet, dry, light, dark?
to all that answered.
The Vauxhall Corsa has ELECTRIC power steering
that means NO fluid to lose i think
-google it-
