peugeot 106 clutch

i have recently purchased a 106 gti since buying the car the clutch has gone really stiff, can this be adjusted? do i need a new clutch? what could be causing this? any advice gratefully recieved, many thanks,

it needs the gear box removing more than likely it is the clutch . but could also be the clutch arm seized in the box. just try a cable on it first my be lucky
