Fixing TV programmes
1 Answers
In the late 1950`s I watched a quiz programme and on the motoring section was rather stumped! Although the questions were classed as `motoring` they only seemed to involve driving on the Continent and surprisingly the young lady contestant had a good knowledge of this subject and scored well.
Not long later, the newspapers revealed that the contestants were told beforehand on a specific area to concentrate on. So the contestants appeared to be very knowledgeable on a subject but in fact were virtually reading from a script. If any ABer`s can think back Fifty Years, just how many would have reason to know anything at all about continental driving.
So, for the past fifty years, I have been very sceptical about anything on TV as I think they are only interested in the end result of `entertainment`.
It is no surprise to me to find out just how many shows are fixed, the only surprise is that the viewing public can be taken in!.
