electric window won't work

my electric window (drivers door) has stopped working, its half open and wont close or open all the way, it does nothing. Its 1996 ford escort si. Does anyone have any ideas please

have you tried with another helper to grab the top of the window or force up with your hand whilst pressing e/window switch?

Yes i have tried that but nothing happened, thanks. I have changed the fuse also but that wasn't it either

turn your engine on try....then turn your engine off and again try
this worked with ours.

broken cable on the window regulator maybe? probably need to remove the door panel to investigate further.
