Engine Light Fault - need wiring checks how much should it cost?

The engine light keeps coming on in my Vauxhall Corsa when I I go over 40 MPH and also stalls several times from cold.

I have had the dignostics checked and they said that they are not sure what is wrong so I will need to take it in for a full day for wiring checks which is going to cost 115 pounds for the checks. Can you get them done anywhere else except the Dealership or do you just have to pay that much?

I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne if anyone can reccommend where to go I would be very greatful.

A lot of good garages do have the equipment to do the checks, you will have to shop around.
