hi i just wanted to know if i drive my friends car will i be covered as i am only 23 i am fully comp with my own car and also if i have courier insurance would that cover me to drive someone elses car
you might not be covered phone your insurance company and ask,so many policies these days do not cover you for other cars, and its not worth the risk of getting 6 to 8 pts for no insurance.
You probably are not covered - you need to read your policy very carefully and speak to your insurers.
My insurance does allow me to drive another person's vehicle - in an emergency only. This is so ambiguous I asked my insurers what it meant. They gave the example that the driver was taken ill at the wheel and I was a passenger - I could take over the driving.
You should definately speak to your insurance company to get a definitve answer. The insurance company I work for provide Driving Other Cars Third Party Only but have an age restriction in place whereby you must be 25+ for the cover to be operative. I would recommend however that you perhaps look into getting yourself added to your friends insurance policy (permanently or temporarily - whatever your requirements are) if her car is currently insured that is...
"May also drive another vehicle not belongng to and not hired by the insured, with the owners permission for third party only" on tjhe certificate then yes you can drive with the owners. Just read what is says on the certificate.
My boyf has a car which was insured fully comp for his provisional licence. His brother needed to borrow it as his broke down. He is 23, has third party fire n theft insurance. he called his company and they said yes he was insured for other cars.
Depends on the insurers i think, call them and see
