IS there a law in the UK about children travelling in the front of a car

I know all kids under a certain height/age have to have a booster seat ib the UK now by law but are they allowed to travel in the front of a car wih a booster seat or is this illegal? Thank you

Back is always best and the centre seat (if a 3 point belt) is safest position if car seat fits.
but they can go in Front
