Shockie !

Thinking I had done a shockie in, I took it to my usual mechanic and he said it had actually broken off at the top, something he had never seen in his 40+ years in the trade. Anyone any ideas as to what could have caused this. I don't overload the car.

What sort of car is it, I have seen quite a few megane,s that break the rear shockers off at the top.

Mondeos are also good at breaking shockers! Its usually the top mount bearing that collapses! I had it happen to me earlier this year but fortunantely its a quick and simple repair/replacement

It's a Renault Scenic! Must be a production fault. I emailed Renault about it and, surprise, surprise, they haven't got back to me.
