what site can I go to and enter my registration number to find out all about my car ?
any perticular explanation as how an N reg (98) car can have on all the windows a numberplate number starting with "S" ?

hm ok but where can I enter my reg number and see what comes up ? personally I'm not to sure I trust this giza, as it is I think all he can say for the car is he rekons he reconditioned the engine as for everythging else it "just" past the MOT, I now have only one working door lock out of 3 and frankly have got breakdown cover because more than anythingI am worried I will find myself locked out of the car !

if you have etched glass windows, it maybe that they have replaced them from a scrappers after an accident or it's a ringer.
You could try an hpi check through the auto trader website

You could do a simple check here to make sure your reg number matches the vehicle type and colour.

For more detail you would have to pay HPI or RAC or similar. Just google registration check.

Unless I'm much mistaken N reg was from 1st Aug 1995-31st Jul 1996, and S reg was 1st Aug 1998-29th Feb 1999. Is this plate on your car with the N prefix a private plate?

What I mean is the windows could be etched with the original 1998 S plate and your reg may be a private one. Sorry I wasn't clear in the 1st place!

well the numberplate shows up as 1996 on the dvla website like the logbook says. Tomorow I'll enter the numberplate that is on ALL of the windows and see what happens
