vectra alarm.

I have just bought an s reg vauxhall vectra 1.8 LS and cant seem to lock the car without activating the alarm. How can I lock it without arming it as sometimes I need to leave my dog locked in the car whilst I nip into shops etc...and if the alarm keeps going of it will scare him, and annoy passers by.

gee poor dog - anyway i think there should be a code that you can use - with key in driver's door lock - something like -3 turns to left - 4 turns to right - 2 to left - 6 to right - these numbers obviously are not the ones you use - you should ask whoever you bought car from for the code - this code should also over-ride the immobiliser - good luck
