_Help! 21 Penalty Notices and fines for new road sign

Hi all I wonder if you can advise me. I received a penalty notice and fine today for turning right into a road, that apparently you can not turn into between 7.30am-9.30am. I have noticed a "keeping our roads safe" car parked up there for the past MONTH, but thought council/police were monitoring the road due to alot of accidents that happen there when icey, or completing a traffic flow survey.
Infact non of the users that use that road on a daily basis thought anything of it, and I usually have to queue 4 cars deep to turn into the road.
It is only today that I got this fine, and to my horror went back to the road and noticed the sign mentioning the times.
They must have caught everyone in the town, as that the road you use to access parking for the station.
Much to my horror we have also realised that the "safety" car has been there for over a MONTH I immediately phoned the council to object, and they told me I have the right to appeal, but if they reject it, the fine will raise from �60- �180.
What worries me the most is does that mean I am about to receive 21 fixed penalty notices?

I do not have the money to pay them all if I do? Is this daylight robbery?

Exceptionally distressed as to pay them I'm going to have to return all the xmas presents.

Hi clarey,
I'm sorry that you seem to have been caught in such a sneaky way like this. I remember a prog a few years ago on Tonight where a road traffic expert got people off fines due to minute flaws in the council's markings and signage this was from 2005. A link to a synopsis is here
