Does anyone know how many vehicles these can detect speeding at any one time ? e.g if 3 or 4 vehicles are travelling towards the van, can it record the speeds of all the vehicles.

Also does anyone know if there is any percentage over the limit allowed to cover things like inaccuracies in different speedos, or could they slap you with a ticket for doing 41mph in a 40mph zone ?

You could technicallybe done for 41mph in a 40 zone but this is unlikely.

The guidelines are here:

http://www.speedlimit.org.uk/faq.html
if there are three or so cars traveling in a line the camera will get all the cars, if one is overtaking another the camera operator will concentrate on the vehicle doing the overtaking, then turn to the other vehicle, so in theory they could both be caught, if both were speeding

they have to allow 10% for calibration reasons so effectivly
in a 40 you could get away with44
