vauxhall corsa c 2001 timing chain

hi there, i have a x reg 2001 corsa c 1.0 litre 12v. and i have noticed a rather large ratterling sound when the car is idle, its not too bad when i first start the car up but as the car gets up to working temp its quite loud! but at high revs or the car moving its a lot quiter. i berlive it could be something to do with the timing chain. when i listen to the engine its comming from that area. the car has done 71 miles and its not been changed atall, can anyone help me atall? and any ideas on prices?

get it looked at asap,because if it is the chain,it could go any minute and cost you a awful lot more.

vauxhall issued a recall on the timing chain and gears on the 1.0ltr 3 cyl engine. i would contact a vauxhall dealer to see whether this has been carried out or not. if the work has not been carried out already vauxhall should do this free of charge for you.

yeah i herd about the recall, but i dont think its for 2001 corsas is it? do you think my car may be under the recall then?

call your local vauxhall dealer and give them the chassis number and they should be able to tell you whether your car is affected by the recall. ps it was the early ones that were the problem.

hi there im having the same problem with my corsa its also the 1.0 3 cylinder but noone seems to know the problem i just wanna know did having your timing chain done fix your problem as im stuck for answers at the moment
