I've just changed my car and have noticed that one of the windows has lots of scratches on it - it looks like someone has cleaned it with wire wool!

Any idea how I can get rid of them?

Scratches on glass can be removed by using a progression of finer abrasives.
If you think wire wool was used originally I would suggest you start with a brillo pad and water and go over the affected area - give it a good scrubbing. Clean that off and repeat the scrub this time using Brasso metal polish. clean the area again and use a finer abrasive such as silver polish, carry on the process useing finer and finer abrasives such as jewellers rouge. It should eventually polish up like new.

Thanks
Quicker still. Go to a scrap yard and see if they have one. It shouldn`t cost much.

I hadn't thought of that - thanks

Mind you, I've got electric windows and I've never replaced glass before - is it as tricky as I'm suspecting?
