hyundai spare key
I recently bought an x reg hyundai amica, but it only came with 1 key. The previous owner said he'd send the other key on, but he lied. I am going to get a spare cut, but don't know if there is a chip in this key. Don't think the car has an alarm (base model 1.0 Si), so I was wondering whether I could get it cut at Timpsons or somewhere similar, as I have heard that main dealers charge a fortune. Have tried emailing local dealer in Banbury, but they haven't replied. How do I find out if this key is chipped?? Thanks for any advice.

Timpson and other keycutters/locksmiths certainly have the equipment and capability to cut and programme copies of transponder keys. They will probably request proof of ownership of the vehicle.
