blue disabled badge design

yet another case in the news concerning joint stupidness by the badge holder and the parking enforcement person.

ok so the badge should be displayed with number and signature face up (this means the photo and a reasonable way of checking on the occupants being legally entitled to use the badge is hidden)

it is really beyond the wit of the authorities to produce a badge that is printed with all the relevant info ON ONE SIDE?

it was all over the papers and tv,
an old duffer was refusing to pay a �60 fine and hoping to get locked up on a point of principle

My wife got a fine for the same thing. Blue badge clearly on display but the side with her number on was the wrong way up. In fairness, it does say ' Display this side' but traffic wardens have to get their quotas so discretion doesn't come into it, does it ?

Thanks for this posting. As a blue badge holder I usually just take it out of the glovebox and toss it onto the dash. In future I'll make sure it's the right way up.(never realised there was a right and wrong way)

local councils rely so much on the revenue generated from parking tickets so discretion and common sense is out of the window with these muppets.

How many people here would like their photo and full name on display in their car every time they park, this has loads of security and privacy issues, also the badge holder may be the passenger not the driver, my daughter has a blue badge but does not drive, this can be displayed in any car she travels in.
