I parked on the street in a completely unmarked area in Hillingdon Borough for 3 weeks. When I returned to the car the Borough had installed a sign saying residents parking and I was notified by post of two parking offences. Can I challenge the tickets?

no you cant, its your fault you dident check on the car,not the councils.
To Normanthe hedgehog, have you taken account of oitbir's point that the sign was put up AFTER he parked the car
Yes, you can challenge them. Whether you'll be successful is another matter. But do it soon, or the fines double.
It might help your case if you can prove that you were unable to respond to the first ticket - i.e. were you out of the country? or somewhere sufficiently far away that it was unreasonable to expect you to return to your vehicle?
how many times are you going to ask this same ******* question? just pay the fine.
