Why do people still buy Renault Clio`s when they still insist it`s the customers fault that the bonnet flies up and smashes the windscreen.....are they waiting to see how many people can get killed before they do a recall?
On watchdog last evening they were still getting complaints and from people whom had had their vehicles checked and still the bonnets flew up. I personally own a Ford, but I feel for Clio owners and hope a Clio owner will let us know about their car.
A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.
renault DID recall the clio for the bonnet catch for inspection but not replacement as i dealt with hundreds of them through our fleet of NHS cars. all clios after a certain age were re[placed with metal bonnet ctaches as opposed to the plastic catches which were causing the prblems. c r a p cars anyway.
maybe its just a reno thing as my partner got a new megane and the drivers seat keeps coming away from the floor. Is this classed as dangerous to. According to reno its not its just a slight glitch. Maybe once yes but its come lose about 4 times in 18 months. I 8 reno myself but she wanted 1 so she had 1.
