Stopping on a single yellow line

I was issued a ticket by a camera operator while waiting to pick up a friend. I was stopped on the single yellow line behind a car which was parked there in a parking bay. I was standing on a single yellow line, not blocking the traffic for 3 minutes and my lights and engine were on. I also never came out of the car.
Do you think i should pay the ticket?
