Anyone got any ideas :

1) how much does a litre cost wholesale,(ie: if an independant petrol station was buying from a supplier)
2) how much is paid in tax to government when sold onto customer.
3) how much profit does the garage make on average per litre.

If a litre of petrol costs 1.10, it comprises 50.35p in fuel duty and 16.38p in VAT.

The wholesale price of the fuel is about 40p. With transport costs of around 1.5p this leaving a profit of about 2p for the retailer.
