testing an interrupt switch

i've been trying for a while to fix my ride on mower....the engine won't start. I've done lots of tests and can start the engine if I bypass the failsafes. It has about 4 to prevent the engine starting (eg brake must be depressed, blades up, gearstick in neutral). According to all my testing, there is something wrong with one of these switches or their cabling to the solenoid. How is it possible to test these switches? They are kinda weird. Like a yellow two pin plug going in to one side, and a red two pin plug going into the other side. When i press the button that simulates 'good to go' for the failsafe, a circuit is completed on one plug, but only on the other after that button is released. I don't know how I would find out if the switch were bust, or what to do with it if I did. Help! Thanks.

If as you say you have bypassed the failsafes and the mower works, then surely all you have to do is to bypass them all, and then enable each one indivdually until you find the faulty switch?
