Please help! My 1999 Astra 2.0 16v SRi has what seems to be an electrical fault. This happened 3 months ago and rectified itself - now it's back!

From firing it up, the Traction Control and ABS lights stay on. Then the speedo seems to do what it feels like! In the clip, I turn the engine off and leave the key in P2, and it still does it.

My garage bloke was scratching his head about it last time saying it could be a sensor on one of the wheels, but he wasn't sure.

If you know for definite, or have a good idea what it is or will cost I would be really grateful!! Thanks!

Speedo climbs to 10-20mph without the car moving, engine on or not!

Hi, take out the Traction control switch & try the car again.

Hi -

It does the same.

I think it may be something to do with the speedo cable? As it starts to get erratic and move when I am stopped, that's when the TC and ABS report faults; ie when the car is supposedly moving but the systems detect it is not!

Does that make sense ABers? Or am I miles away?!
