OK if you know the van is from a BIG outfit. That is because they out their vans at a pre-determined time or mileage, not just because they are knackered.
BT is a good example.

ta paul the place im looking to buy from is a large auction in merthyr tydfil ive tried to buy a van private but the traders get there before me obviously i have to work and cant get there as quick as them so auction is my only choice really
Buying a van at auction is like buying from anywhere else it is just pure luck, fleet vans should have been looked after mechanically but bodywise they are usually knocked about especially the Sprinters with there customary gouge down the side ,i personally bought my van off Ebay at a knock down price ,good value ask lots of questions but it all comes down to are you feeling lucky
I had a year old fleet disposal van from auction. Was a nightmare. Things I would have picked up on given a better inspection and lots of things went I wouldn't have spotted too. Mainly due to being thrashed to h3ll by the original driver.
If you have chance to give it a good going over first then fine but avoid any that come up unexpectedly.
