We do loads of these, we find it's best to use Ford bushes as the after market ones don't last. We charge 160 +vat

thanks twazerk
do you work for a garage as its good to get a rough idea of cost. how long would it normally take to do the job .
You have to take the rear subframe off completely so it's quite a task, it usually takes me about an hour or so, total job done.
No you can remove the bushes and replace them without removing the subframe

Poly bushes are the best they will last a long time

add about 150 labour

Mondeo Estates don't have this problem as they don't have any
Question Author
thanks for all info. twazerk have you had any feedback about these poly bushes as mentioned by fiesata.sounds like a easier way to do the job without subframe removal. i know you recommended ford bushes. but curious to know from a mechanic point of view about these poly bushes if they would last any time or would have to be replaced on a regular basis
Question Author
hi
fiesata just joined ford mondeo forum looks really good for info on all sorts of problems thanks for link.
Never fitted poly bushes to a mondeo rear subframe but have used them extensively on my race cars and stuff and they are brilliant, have read the thread and I'm not sure about getting the old bush sleeves out of the subframe whilst it's still fitted.
Question Author
thanks for info twazark .it seems as though you can change them while subframe is still fitted according to the mondeo forum which i have just joined. but its good to get your oppinion on the poly bushes.as this was an unknown factor for me.
