Dangerous driving whilst uninsured and providing false details
A friend recently wrote off a mate's car, he did so by driving into another vehicle, whilst driving to quickly around a corner and drifting to the other side of the road.
As it was not his car he was not insured to be driving it, and once the police had arrived he attempted to provide the detail of the owner of the car instead of giving his own. The police officer at the scene mentioned dangerous driving to him as he was at fault for the accident. He has since contacted the police and told the truth about the accident i.e. who he is. What kind of punishment can he expect after providing the false details, driving whilst not insured and the possible dangerous driving charge?
A quick response would be most appreciated.

He contacted the police later the same day although the officer he needed to speak to was not on duty and was going to call him back, that's as much as I know at the moment.
As an estimate Sara, what sort of things can he expect?
