i though tanks ran on diesel
Is it a trick question?

Or a maths question?

Well, if this is not a trick question....

The tank contains 20 gallons and each gallon will let the tank move 31.3 miles per gallon, then all you need to do is multiply 20 x 31.3 which = 626 in my universe but of course it may be different in yours....

My answer therefore is 626 miles (in my universe and assuming this is not a trick question)...

if it's going through the middle of London, it won't get very far, i've heard that the traffic in those big cities can be really bad,

I even heard of someone who was held up for a whole 15 minutes once. Wow, imagine that.

There was a hold-up here a couple of weeks back, when one of old Mr Jones' cows was taken lame as he was trying to get her to cross the road for milking - and the road was closed for a full 10 mins at least.

No buses tried to get past though

They are trick questions only one has it right but most go for the obvious without thinking

I can't see why it's not 626, but that's just too obvious.

Mind you, a bus in London would spend so much time sitting stationary in traffic with its engine running, it would waste quite a lot of its fuel.

I did say .... *in my universe* .... obviously the rest of you (well, almost all lol) live in a different one...

I'm in the one that's over there on the right... yep, just behind the L of the google sign...
But if the bus was on a rocking chair... then it probably wouldn't be physically moving too far forwards ....

As Jayne mentions..... fuel is still consumed when in a traffic jam, so maybe the mileage quoted is actually irrelevant...

doh.. I give up ..... J skuttles back to her own universe.... where the men are men and the maths is straightforward....
A bus does betwen 8 to 11 MPG.
An incredibly dull answer to an incredibly dull question.
