My car has suddenly developed the following symptoms when I connected my trailer electrics:
1. The radio does not work.
2. The multi-function display resets itself to zero when the ignition is switched off.
3. The remote central locking only locks the car. I have to use the key to unlock the car.
4. The electric window on the drivers side opens and closes the window in stages. The passenger side window works as normal.

The fuses appear to be OK. My local dealer wants the car in, they are not prepared to suggest a possible cause. Any suggestions

sounds like a bad earth wire, do the "symptoms" go back to normal once the trailer has been disconnected or do they continue?

The symptoms have continued. It has now been two weeks since they started.
unfortunately late Citroens are notorious for electrical problems...When the C5 first came out they many issues .as rnchugg says, most trailer problems are caused by bad earths...

My suggestion would be to take it to an Auto electrician NOT a garage. There are a number of company's and people the specialize in car electrics, they should be able to diagnose the problem a lot quicker because they have the specialized equipment. Good luck anyway.
