We had to call out the RAC to our W reg Corsa earlier this year, having flattened the battery trying to start it. The RAC man turned the engine over, keeping the gas pedal to the floor for a couple of minutes (on booster cables) until it started & then let it warm up. He said that short trips paticularly in colder weather upsets the engine management system & one has to purge the fuel system of excess petrol. He said the Nissan Micra was notorious for this fault. We had moved the car a couple of times only a few yards to squeeze another car onto our forecourt.
