Replacement windscreen - fogging up

Hiya

I recently had to have a replacement front windscreen on my C3. Since it has been replaced the windscreen keeps fogging up (this never happened with the original windscreen) and it seems the only way I can clear this is to have the air-con on directed up at the windscreen. I called Autoglass, and they came out and refitted the windscreen (although they said they couldn't find any faults).

This morning all the windows and both the front and back windscreens were badly fogged up and it took ages to clear - the other cars in the street didn't appear fogged up at all.

Any ideas ?

make sure the carpet is dry the new windscreen may be leaking,if it's ok make sure you havn't got the heater on air recycle,if that is not the fault try replacing the pollen filter this can get blocked & cause the car to steam up especially this time of year.

heretohelp - Many Thanks for your tips... I'm pretty sure the carpet isn't wet, but I will double check tonight, and then check out your other suggestions.

I have not had it professionally valeted - just out of interest...how would that cause a problem ?

Hi again, I do this on a part time basis when you use a wet & dry machine to valet to a point you cannot extract all the water / fluid from the carpets / seats depending on the weather if you cannot leave the interior to dry out with the windows open the interior will mist up. Another thing that can mist up your car is the loss of water from the car's heater Matrix ( Radiator) This may have been said, there are water outlets under the bonnet as you open the bonnet below the windscreen at the bulkhead ( Back of the engine) there are outlets here for excess water to drain these might be blocked with leaves etc this inturm will let water to find its way into the car. check all your carpets! are they dry? if there is one area that is wet there is your sourse.

My wife had this problem a while ago, and we couldn't fathom out why it was happening until she noticed a small trickle of water entering the car by the passenger footwell after it had been raining. On checking, she found the carpet to be damp. Aparently, the gutter under the bonnet was fitted incorrectly and rainwater was being directed into the car instead of away from.

So, I would go along with previous answers, and suggest you may have a damp carpet.
