buying car from america

hi, i want to purchase a BMW coupe (E46) with either a 320 or 330 diesel or 325 petrol engine. The main fact is that is should be in alpine white. but as i live in the UK, i tried everything from autotrader to ebay and i cant find any in this country. i found some in USA between �12000-�15000 with low miles and clean car. Do you think anything will go wrong if i purchase it ffrom the US? i mean the only differnce i can see is that USA models have the drivers seat in the left which shouldnt be a major issue. are there any disadvantages? what are the costs involved to ship the car to the UK?

The new model is way out of my budget.

There are other issues like headlamps dipping the wrong way,they wont be cheap...import duty/vat etc.etc, really has to be cheap to make it worthwhile...you would need to speak to a specialist shipping company as regards freight costs..

There are plenty of people that will help you out on this, why sped good money importing when, if you wait & search you WILL find one here with the same spec. ( Unless you have money to burn & i doubt this).

Its a website for vehicle sales across europe, You will find what you want on there, probably in Germany and all you need to do is fly over and drive it back. Used cars carry no import duty and it costs �39 to register in the UK.
I have bought several motorhomes from this site, and saved thousands on UK prices, If you dont mind LHD, this is your best option, forget the states.
