our household has two cars, but out of consideration we park them on a slant thus only taking up the room of one car. our neighbours have one car and one motorbike, and whilst the car is out, they block off the footpath with the motorbike, to save their parking space for their return. firstly i would like to know if they are legally allowed to do this, but recently the bike has been coming futher and further toward our side, enabling us to only park one car, when we can usually park two in that space.
my neighbour also tries purposly blocking me in with his car on his return, surley he isnt allowed to do this?

If it is a public road he can do as he pleases, even if it is inconsidreate.
Neighbour disputes of any kind are the worst possible nightmare.

Before you even think about getting into any legal aspects of your neighbour's actions, you need to try and sort things out betwen yourselves. This will avoid a war of attrition which is unpleasant, and expensive.

Next time your neighbour blocks your car with his motorbike, knock and the door and REALLY politely ask him if he could please move it so you can get out, and do that every time he does it until he gets sick of being silly and moves it anyway.

If he fails to do so, ask him, again REALLY politely if there is a problem, and you hope you can both sort it out together. This may work, but if he is determined to b e bloody-minded, then you might have to resort to legal advice.

However, that should be your absolute last resort, when you have nothing what ever to loose in terms of goodwill.

Hope you can sort this out.
Everytime the bike is parked there ask the owner politely to move it so you can get out, the more times you do it the more times the owner will get p*ssed off shifting it hence the owner wont do it anymore....
