headlight bulb fitting

I've replaced the bulbs , but they are shining upwards , could i have put them in upside down. problem is i can't seem to locate them in any other way they are on a vw polo you just push them in

i believe you have put the bulbs upside down the bulb should be 477 it should have three pin on it one at 12 oclock and 4 and 8, the 4 and 8 pins should be kept down towards the ground and it should slot in

reversed the bulb fitting but still the same , the bulbs looked better fitted the first time , I have not altered any adjustments so whats the problem?
