My car has developed a sort of high pitched "whoo" sound only when it's cold and only for about a mile after setting off. It starts as I accelerate. It has just had an expensive service and they said they couldn't detect any noise, but as I'd just driven 40 miles to the garage, it wouldn't have occured. Any ideas as to what could be causing it would be gratefully received. Thanks

You might have a bad steering belt or an alternator belt.

If this doesn't work buy a Ferrari Daytona! ;D

Hi, was this sound there before the service? It sounds as if the car is drawing in air, try checking the intake pipes Etc.
