Looking for a car

Can anybody tell me if a ford c.max is a good car and how much should i pay for 03 or 04 about 60,000 miles , what are the things to look out for.

Ive got a 53 plate. that age had the old style EGR valve which was prone to sticking and any car that had it replaced would have had the old replacement unless after about mar 06.
I have the 2.0 tdci and its generally a good car, roomy and i get good fuel consuption, though it does get bad when due a service, but i average 45-48mpg.
Cars are coming down in price, ive been offered about 6k for mine part ex but it is the ghia, with leather and dvd.

I have a zetec 1.8tdci on an 06 plate. Best car I've ever had. You've got to expect a slightly firm ride though, the chassis is the same as the ford focus but this gives you excellent roadholding and cornering. On a motorway run, I kid you not, I get 62mpg!
