Everytime i switch on the engine on my peugeot 206 the brake lights come on and stay on, any ideas as to why and how to fix please

check the switch on the pedal, may be that it is jammed or has detachted from the pedal itself in which case would cause your described problem, on this car it will be under the glovebox as they were originally manufactured for left hand drive in france
