Everytime I release my foot off the brake a hissing sound comes from the pedal. If I put my foot back on it stops, but then comes again when I take my foot off again.

It is going in for a service, so does anyone know what this could be so that I can point it out to the mechanic.

Check your servo! check the pipes that are connected to the front of your servo. are you finding you need more pressure to brake?

I dont think I need to press harder, but the hissing is getting more and more.

Forgot to add, could there be a split in the pipe/tube or whatever it is that connects to the pedal that is releasing air?

Hi, when you apply the foot brake it goes into the servo which is attached to the bulkhead, inside the servo you have a Large Diaphragm, a spring that in turn attache to your foot brake via a brake cylinder, At times this Diaphragm gets old with age Hence (Hissing)

My brakes started hissing and eventually went metal to metal. You have a service so you will find out then!

basically the diaphragm is starting to split, will result in loss of vacuum pressure and no servo assistance to the brakes eventually
