I'd be surprised at a '3rd party, fire & theft' quote (which, strangely, is often cheaper than just '3rd party') coming out at much (if anything) under three grand.

there are a number of insurers who offer cheap policies however they also try everyway they can to get out of honouring that insurance once you make a claim, so i assume from your already checkered driving history you may need to make a claim and therefore would be better off going for a better insurer although this will cost you more

No cheap policies for any 19 year old - they might be driving an old banger worth a couple of hundred quid, but they can cause hundreds of thousands of pounds of compensation claims

i am the the 19 year old boy in question michalas son. with respect i thought the car was insured the first time round so was un aware at the time and in regards of having more driving lessons how did you work that out???? having more driving lessons wouldnt excuse the fact i had any insurance my driving capabilities had nothing to do with this situation? for the last year ive had a car 6 insurance groups higher then my current car for half the price of the insurance im getting now!
