Something similar in size to a Colt,....... maybe a bit more stylish/less basic....Japanese for reliability?...good economy.......maybe 6mths old........no need for lots of power, one person commute (minor roads & motorway) vehicle. For a change I don't have to have a dog friendly, family car! What would you recommend? Any amazing deals out there?

One person commute- how about a smart car or a mini? Love your name by the way zacsmaster!!
Japanese cars may be reliable yet not very comfortable on the whole, methinks. Seat cars are very reliable yet maybe just a little too big for you. The VW Polo is a very nice car! :-)Good luck with your search! Hugs, Beatrice ;-)

Zac, I promise I will go & sit in one tomorrow when I go looking cos they would get the 'rear of the year' from me, fab! Cautious cos I have driven cars feeling like a size 10 in a size 16 if you follow the analogy, I'll know when I sit in. Spec wise I'd got my thinking from the Mazda 3 to the 2, it soulds OK.
Polo might be a goer Bea. Whatever, it's fun choosing
