removing windscreen scratches

when it was bad frost last week i thought I'd defrosted the windscreen enough but when i used the wipers i noticed later that there was a scratch wiper shaped on the drivers side

is there anything i can do to polish it or something or am i going to need a new windscreen?

You can by polish to cut out the scratch, Try Halfords or your local Auto spares shop, Its like a paste that you apply to the glass then remove with a clean damp cloth.
